Inexpensive activities for the family

If you are staying in town this spring and are in charge of keeping little ones entertained, don’t panic.  Kids don’t need you to do extravagant activities or for you to spend a ton of money to have a fun and memorable spring break.  Here are some fun ideas that won’t break:

  • Plant a garden, or if it is still too cold where you live, plan one out for later this Spring
  • Find a trail and go hiking
  • Pack up a picnic and go to a park for lunch
  • Bake or maybe even have a baking competition
  • Do random acts of kindness
  • Go to the library
  • Paint toenails or have an at-home spa day
  • Feed the ducks at the park/lake
  • Make a fort and watch movies
  • Make paper airplanes and have a contest
  • Make s’mores on the outdoor firepit
  • Write and send letters to friends and family far away
  • Set up a lemonade stand
  • Walk around downtown
  • Play board games
  • Go on a scavenger hunt
  • Have a family sleepover in the living room
  • Go out for ice cream (as you can see, it's a big hit!)
