No one can prevent all identity theft.

¹Two requirements must be met to receive the One-Bureau Credit Monitoring feature: (i) your identity must be successfully verified with Equifax; and (ii) Equifax must be able to locate your credit file that contains sufficient credit history information. If these requirements are not met you will not receive credit features from Equifax.  You will receive Credit Features once the verification process is successfully completed. Any credit monitoring from Equifax will take several days to begin after your successful plan enrollment.

fraud protection services

We have a Fraud Monitoring Program that calls or texts you when a suspicious transaction occurs on your card. This system will sometimes temporarily restrict/block your card based on how high-risk the suspicious transaction was. You will receive an automated text or voice message that will ask you to validate the transaction(s) and provide you with a case number.

What to do if your card is lost or stolen

Canopy’s system will never call you and ask/require your protected information!

visa credit card FAQs

Visa Credit Card payments are due the 17th of every month.

If you don't make your payment by the 17th of each month, you may be charged a fee of 15% of the minimum payment due with a maximum of $35.

Your interest rate will depend on your credit score. If you're an exsisting Canopy member you can access your credit score for free with the Credit Score tool from Savvy money after logging into your account. Otherwise, you can find a rough estimate of your credit score by downloading apps like Credit Karma and/or Credit Sesame but your true credit score will most likely be different when we pull it for your application. You can get one free credit pull per year (without having to apply for a loan) at annualcreditreport.com. Learn more about what makes up a credit score and how you can improve it in our blog What Makes up a Credit Score?

Once you're approved, we can print your credit card at any of our locations during business hours so you can start using it right away OR we can mail your new card to you but it may take 7 - 10 business days to arrive.

We work hard to make sure we get back to you as soon as possible. We will follow-up with you within 1-2 business days.

We do have a small foreign transaction fee. You will be charged up to 1% of every US-equivalent dollar spent and 2.5% of each cash advance ($1 minimum).

Your monthly payment will be either 2.5% of your balance or $10 - whichever is greater.

There is NOT a fee for withdrawing cash from your Canopy Credit Card at Canopy locations but you will pay interest on the amount you withdraw the next time your monthly payment is due (even if you've already paid your balance off that month).

If you pay off the balance showing on your credit card statement every month, you can avoid paying any interest on your card. There are exceptions to this like cash advances and balance transfers but that is the general rule of thumb!

We will request your two most recent pay stubs and any payoff statements if you have balance transfers.
