22 activities to cure your kids’ boredom

Written by Momcent’s Mom, Krista

If you have kids, I am sure you have heard, “I’m bored” a time or two (or one hundred!) I have been hearing it more and more now that we have been stuck at home most of the time and there aren’t a lot of options of places to go. Here are some fun ideas to give your kids next time they say the dreaded “I’m bored.”

  • Play with chalk, make a hopscotch
  • Write a story
  • Blow bubbles
  • Take the dog on a walk
  • Bake a treat
  • Make a menu for dinner and make it for the whole family
  • Play board games
  • Facetime a family member
  • Look at old scrapbooks and pictures
  • Make a craft
  • Clean your room (my personal favorite)
  • Go through your toys and pick ones to donate
  • Watch a movie
  • Blow bubbles
  • Wash the car
  • Water the garden or plants in your house
  • Make up a dance
  • Read a book
  • Pack a picnic
  • Make a paper airplane and have a contest with the family
  • Learn a magic trick
  • Write a letter or note to a family member that lives far away

There are a lot of things (for free) that can be fun and done at home.  Sometimes you just have to get creative and remind your kids that sometimes it’s about the simple pleasures in life.
